Be supported in helping you resolve your problems?
My name is Debra Welsh and I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. Counselling can help with any situation which has led you to feel anxious, sad, stressed or frustrated. It can help you to see things from another perspective and help you find solutions for your worries.
Although my style is mainly person-centered I do use an integrative approach in my therapy which basically means that I draw on the different theories and techniques that I have been formally trained in to allow me to tailor your therapy uniquely to you.
This is YOUR therapy and our relationship exists solely for YOUR benefit!
After you contact me initially I will book you in for an assessment session which lasts for 30 minutes and is free of charge.
This gives us an opportunity to see if you feel I am the right therapist for you and for me to be sure I have the correct skills and experience to work with you for your benefit. If either of us decides not to proceed I can refer you to another therapist or organisation that can help you if you wish.
It is in most cases impossible to tell how long an individual requires therapy for, and as such I don’t like to put any time limits on therapy. Believe it should continue as long as it is BENEFICIAL for you; for some this may be six sessions, for others it may be a year or more. Regular reviews will be built into our work together. We would usually have a therapy sessions together once a week, each session lasting for 50 minutes.
My usual fee is £45 per session, concessions are considered for those on a low household income. Should you need to cancel a session I require 48 hours notice otherwise I will charge you 50% of your fee.
In line with national counselling society guidelines my work is supervised by a highly experienced psychotherapist. None of your personal details would be disclosed or discussed.
Your therapy sessions are completely confidential and the only occasions I would be required to break this confidentiality would be if I felt there was a genuine danger to your life or there was a child protections issue.
